I made a Japanese Knot Bag for my mom following the tutorial at Show Your Workings. I had made another (much plainer) bag for myself and decided to change the construction of the next one just slightly to make it easier to put together.
I found it incredibly difficult to sew the tops of the handles together as described in step 6, I just could not get the pressure foot in there! So, on the second bag I left about an inch open at the top of the inner curve on each handle (in step 5). After I turned everything right side out I was able to sew the tops of the handles together flat (both the outer and inner fabric) and hand stitched the inner curve instead of the top of the out fabric handle. Made construction much easier!
Mom's bag is more of an evening bag, since she's always going to conventions for The Piano Technicians Guild (my parents are piano technicians). Let's see if she carries it! LOL
